A six day training course "Systemic Structural and Organisational Constellations in Coaching, Consultancy and Change Management in Cooperation with The Institut for Persönlichkeit - Cologne
We are in the midst of a paradigm shift: Tried-and-tested leadership tools are increasingly no longer sufficient to effectively shape change and align organizations for the future. New ways of working, new competencies, tools—and above all, new mindsets—are in demand.
Organizational constellations hold the potential to generate impulses for action and creative solutions in situations characterized by unclear or overwhelming information. They make it possible to visualize complex relationships and identify hidden forces at work in your organization, project, or change initiative.
This training program supports you in developing new perspectives, skills, and resources to navigate your questions and challenges with purpose and clarity through a rapidly changing work environment—and to further develop your system effectively in the process.
What will you gain from this training?
Target Audience
This training is aimed at consultants, coaches, and trainers, as well as leaders and individuals responsible for organizational or personnel development.
If you want to better leverage the potential of your role to find new paths and move forward effectively in a complex, ambiguous world, then this training is exactly right for you.
Module 1: Fundamentals of Structural and Organizational Constellations (3 days)
Objective:
An introduction to the methodological and theoretical foundations of structural and organizational constellations.
Content:
You will begin by gaining insights into the origins and core principles of structural and organizational constellations according to SySt® (developed by Insa Sparrer and Matthias Varga von Kibéd). Key aspects such as working with differences, solution-focused approaches, dealing consciously with ambiguity, precise clarification of assignments, and the principle of group simulation are presented and contextualized.
A special focus is placed on the role and attitude of the facilitator. Topics such as impartiality, presence, connectivity, and clarity are emphasized—along with a clear distinction from a therapeutic stance in favor of a consistent orientation toward organizations and concerns.
You will then be introduced to various foundational formats and processes of constellations. You will explore different settings—for example, individual constellations using figures or system boards, group constellations with representatives, work with floor anchors, and even digital tools. Formats such as exploratory constellations, solution constellations, problem constellations, the tetralemma, and concealed/double-blind formats will be explained and reflected upon in terms of their respective applications.
Another component of this module is the concrete structure of a constellation. Central principles for restructuring and interventions, as well as the so-called “unrolling” process, will be addressed. Systemic language usage also plays an important role.
In practical exercises, you will work with real case studies from the professional world. You will have the opportunity to explore your own topics or gain experience in rotating roles as facilitator, representative, or observer. Exercises are followed by group reflection, supervision, and evaluation regarding applicability to the professional context.
Methods:
Theoretical input, demonstrations, practical exercises, small group work, reflection sessions, and supervision
Module 2: Deepening & Application in Organizational Development (3 days)
Objective:
Building on Module 1, this module deepens the use of structural and organizational constellations in complex contexts of organizational development. Participation requires successful completion
of Module 1.
Content:
This module focuses on applying the method to real-world challenges in organizational development. You’ll learn how to work with organizational roles, teams, and various stakeholders. Topics include rank and order, leadership dynamics, and the impact of positions and roles within a system.
A special focus is placed on making visible and utilizing typical organizational dynamics. Topics include unstable leadership positions (the so-called “ejector seat”), the development and impact of leadership systems, interplay between various relational levels, and the consequences of absent leadership. You’ll also learn how goal and customer orientation can be incorporated into constellation formats. Conflict dynamics, their causes, and potential solutions are explored—as well as the influence of change processes, cultural factors, values, and alignments within teams and organizations.
Additionally, specific constellation formats for strategic issues, decision-making, and leadership questions are introduced. These include the tetralemma, the Solution Geometric Interview, and formats for supervision. You will try these formats using your own cases and reflect on how they can be used in your practice.
A key part of this module is working on your own real-world cases and those of other participants. In live constellations, current topics are explored, collaboratively processed, and reflected upon from different perspectives. This work is supported by peer supervision and structured feedback.
Finally, the integration of constellation methods into existing consulting and organizational development processes is addressed. You will learn how to effectively combine structural and organizational constellations with other methods and formats to design systemic and impactful development processes. Practical application is deliberately supported.
Methods:
Live constellations with real cases, feedback sessions, transfer exercises, advanced theoretical input, peer supervision
Quick clarification of complex interrelations:
Constellations make hidden dynamics, blockages, or patterns in teams, projects, or structures visible.
Promotion of systemic thinking:
The method strengthens the ability to think in terms of interdependencies and relationships—a key in complex organizations.
Support for decision-making:
Constellations help evaluate options, simulate consequences, and develop viable solutions.
Strengthening of leadership skills:
Leaders gain new perspectives on roles, responsibilities, loyalty conflicts, and team dynamics.
Integration of intuition and cognition:
Organizational constellations connect head, heart, and gut—a powerful complement to purely analytical methods.
Increased efficiency in change processes:
By clarifying systemic backgrounds, interventions can be more targeted and effective.
Enhanced dialogue and relationship competence:
Tensions, loyalties, or unspoken issues can be made visible and addressed.
Resource- and solution-oriented work:
Focused on potential, not problems—systemically oriented toward successful outcomes.
